Baden-Powell House

Baden Powel house

For our 2000th run celebrations we will be enjoying an award winning venue in the center of London's museum district. Baden-Powell House is a scouting hostel and conference centre, just a dinosaurs stride or two away from the Natural History museum in Kensington. Built as a tribute to Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, it is now part of the Meininger Hotels chain. It's primary function is to provide scouts, their families and members of the public, with comfortable and affordable accommodation in central London.

All rooms have double glazing, air conditioning, and en-suite facilities. General facilities include:

South Kensington

Kensington Gardens in summer

Kensington is an affluent area of West London. It lies in travelcard zone one, and enjoys fast transport links to the heart of London.

There is much to attract the hasher to this area. Green areas within easy reach include Kensington Gardens (shown), Holland Park, and the extensive Hyde Park. At street level the historic and affluent nature of the area has resulted in an abundance of rich architecture, proud statues, and hidden mementos to the yellowing pages of history.

Of course we will not be restricting the fun just to the Kensington area. We can give you a hashers eye view of everything that makes London a top class hashing location.
